New Delhi hip-hop artist Raftaar accomplished what only a handful of rappers can claim to have done—he brought Bollywood’s music composers to his door. Originally influenced by artists like Eminem, Raftaar grew from starring alongside Yo Yo Honey Singh and Badshah in the Mafia Mundeer crew to finding his own cadence as a playful yet unsparing MC. Whether he’s knocking out a guest verse or taking the lead, the rapper, lyricist and producer is a trailblazing talent in Hindi movies.

Citing influences as diverse as Eminem, Linkin Park and Sean Paul, New Delhi native Raftaar is an unabashed outlier in the rapidly mushrooming Indian hip-hop scene. Born Dilin Nair, he's candid about having had to trump debilitating financial hardships on his journey to becoming a household name countrywide, and his fiery talent remains consistent evidence of why the fiercely determined rapper made the big leagues.
