Mike Will Made It scored his big break by producing Meek Mill and Rick Ross' "Tupac Back" for MMG's Self Made Vol. 1 compilation in 2010. The song spawned a number of freestyles, including Joell Ortiz's "Big Pun's Back” and Maino's "Biggie Is Back." Will followed up by producing a handful of songs for Future's 2012 debut, Pluto, and hits for 2 Chainz ("No Lie") and Juicy J ("Bandz a Make Her Dance"). Mike Will's now one of hip-hop's most sought-after producers, and his sound is infiltrating the mainstream thanks to songs he produced for Lil Wayne ("Love Me"), Rihanna ("Pour It Up"), and Miley Cyrus ("We Can't Stop").

Metro Boomin has one of the best drops in hip-hop—a threatening seal of approval from frequent collaborator Future. When you hear it, you know what to expect: dense, heavy low-end; eerie synth loops; and layered drum programming that still catches you by surprise. The St. Louis native threw down the gauntlet with the whirlwind beat for Future's "Karate Chop," and the bone-chilling “Jumpman” delivers on that promise.

Q-Tip was not only A Tribe Called Quest's front man, he was also, remarkably, their chief sonic architect. He branched out to production on albums like Nas's Illmatic and Mobb Deep's The Infamous. He also formed The Ummah with protégé J Dilla and Tribe's Ali Shaheed Muhammad—the collective produced Janet Jackson and Mariah Carey, among others. More recently, Tip produced Kanye West and GRAMMY® winner Esperanza Spalding.

Jahaan Sweet first gained attention thanks to his work with Kehlani in 2017, and he's since quietly earned a reputation as a consistently stunning beatmaker. His soundscapes are layered and lush, whether integrating fingersnaps with swelling keys on Aminé's “Heebiejeebies” or finding the harmony between drums and strings on Jessie Reyez's “Great One.” But the sparse, airy sounds heard on Drake's “Ratchet Happy Birthday” showcase a subtler touch.

Hit-Boy began his career with placements for Lil Wayne (“Drop the World”) but his stock quickly rose when he produced “N****s in Paris” for JAY Z and Kanye West's Watch the Throne album in 2011. He was also briefly aligned with West's G.O.O.D. Music and produced several songs on the crew's Cruel Summer LP in 2012, including “Clique” featuring Hov, ‘Ye and Big Sean. Hit's also produced for Nicki Minaj, Justin Bieber and Rihanna, to name a few.
