Brooke Ligertwood is like two artists rolled into one: a folk-pop singer-songwriter gifted with poetic introspection, and a praise & worship composer whose sublime anthems swell with God’s breath. Originally recording as Brooke Fraser (her birth name), the New Zealander had already tasted pop success when she joined Hillsong Church in the mid-2000s. She would go on to pen signature anthems like Hillsong Worship’s “What a Beautiful Name” and “King of Kings.” But Ligertwood has continued recording ambitious solo albums like 2022’s <I>SEVEN</I>, which finds her talents coalescing into a praise & worship set infused with contemplative lyrics.
