From reserved Quiet Storm balladry to over-the-top devotionals that sounded even better in arenas, romance buoyed the ‘80s pop landscape. Massive superstars, weepy belters, smooth soul singers, notoriously mopey rock heroes—no one was immune to Cupid's charms, and the love songs of that decade remain dedication-worthy years later.
