“I wanted this playlist to feel like a journey, the kind that keeps you moving when your body’s tired but your spirit isn’t done yet,” DJ Miss Milan tells Apple Music. The DJ/producer compiled her selections in the run-up to the Nike After Dark Tour’s half-marathon in LA on June 7, 2025—a women’s night race with an after-party headlined by Doechii (with Miss Milan as her DJ and MC) waiting at the finish line. It’s no surprise, then, that this diverse selection is focused on helping you to dig deep and find moments of inspiration. Drawing on hip-hop superstars including Missy Elliott and Kendrick Lamar, pop and dance innovators such as Charli xcx and Peggy Gou, R&B royalty like Beyoncé and Amerie, and even Baltimore club legend Rod Lee, these are songs to urge you to the finish. “Every track I picked has a certain energy, whether it’s a beat that makes you push harder or a lyric that hits different when you’re a few miles deep,” Miss Milan says. “Running a half-marathon isn’t just physical, it’s mental—and music has always been how I reset my mind and tap into that extra gear. This is the soundtrack I’d want in my ears when I’m chasing that finish line.”
