Even as P!nk rose in fame, she retained the whiff of an outsider—someone too frank, too unapologetic, too real for the show: not an icon, but a human being. Born Alecia Beth Moore in Doylestown, Pennsylvania in 1979, P!nk loved Madonna and Janis Joplin, and tried her hand at opera, show tunes, and punk rock. After the demise of her first group, Choice, which was briefly signed to LaFace Records, P!nk released her 2000 debut, <i>Can’t Take Me Home</i>, co-writing more than half the album’s tracks. A year later, she released <i>M!ssundaztood</i>, which bridged the immediacy of club pop with songs that were confessional, genuine, frustrated, and raw (“Family Portrait,” “Just Like a Pill”). While her attitude was central to her appeal, what really set her apart was her versatility: It was hard to imagine another singer capable of tackling something as fun-loving as "Raise Your Glass" or "Get the Party Started" and then shifting, with total credibility, to “Dear Mr. President” or “Who Knew”—who could be a rager one minute and an embracing, almost maternal comfort the next. That mature outlook only took deeper root in the years to follow, with songs such as "Just Give Me a Reason" and "What About Us" exploring relationship challenges and big emotions.

At this point, it’d be easier to list the creative milestones Lady Gaga hasn’t checked off her bucket list. Since skyrocketing to stardom with early smashes like “Just Dance” and “Poker Face,” the tirelessly ambitious artist has brought top-notch theatrics, Warholian playfulness, and endless ideas to the pop charts and beyond. One minute she’s a classicist, belting jazz standards alongside Tony Bennett, then she’s vamping as a gothic house diva on 2025’s “Abracadabra.” Elsewhere in the icon’s repertoire: feel-good dance-floor euphoria (“Rain on Me” alongside Ariana Grande), campy dissections of the nature of fame (“Applause”), folksy power ballads (“Shallow,” “Million Reasons”). Through it all, the EGOT contender’s blend of edginess, sincerity, and good old-fashioned razzle-dazzle has solidified her standing as one of the 21st century’s brightest stars.

Dominic Harrison is a one-man soundclash, pulling together elements of hip-hop, grime, and classic rock to make kinetic, raw pop songs that snarl and bite. He first came to prominence releasing rattling indie-rock songs as YUNGBLUD in 2017, his distinctive voice a combination of chewy Yorkshire vowels and Liam Gallagher swagger. The influence of rappers (both from the U.S. and U.K.) quickly became apparent over the course of subsequent releases, especially after his high-profile collaborations with Machine Gun Kelly (“I Think I’m OKAY”) and Halsey (“11 Minutes”).
