Today’s Country
This playlist tracks what’s happening from the heart of the country scene to its outer edges. Find fan favorites you already love next to breakout stars and emerging voices. Topping the list this week is Tucker Wetmore, who stopped by the studio at Apple Music’s Nashville office to record a live, four-track EP. For his full band set, Wetmore chose two tunes off his newly released album What Not To—“Give Her the World” and the Carter Faith collaboration “Whiskey Again”—as well as two covers, including an unexpected and playfully soulful rendition of the classic James Brown song “It’s a Man’s World.” It’s Wetmore’s take on Toby Keith’s “As Good As I Once Was,” though, that really stands out, as he pays tribute to the late country legend with a faithful and spirited performance of the 2005 hit.
