#OnRepeat - Hip-hop and R&B offer some of the most fluid, dynamic sounds today, true barometers for where the culture is at and where it’s going. This week, headlining #OnRepeat—a playlist chock-full of the hottest new songs we can’t seem to stop playing—is “Bodies” from Offset and JID. The track, which is slated to appear on Offset’s forthcoming album, is a match made in ATL lyricist heaven. Hear what happens when two decorated dirty south MCs set out to impress each other on “Bodies” right now on the #OnRepeat playlist. #OnRepeat is updated regularly, so if you hear something you like, add it to your library.

Rap Life - Rap Life is home to hip-hop’s heavy hitters and its vanguard—the songs that speak to the moment and define the culture today. This week, that means the return of the voice of the Bronx herself, Cardi B. That’s right, big boss Belcalis is back in the booth and with “Outside,” she’s delivered an anthem for those of us who’ve spent the past few months cooped up in the house and are ready to make a name for ourselves. It’s been a while since Cardi gave it to us like this so be warned, this song may result in irrevocable wilding out. Hear “Outside” on the Rap Life playlist and if you hear something you like, add it to your library.

Today’s Hits - Today’s Hits is home to the biggest songs in pop, hip-hop, R&B, and more. At the top of this week’s playlist is Benson Boone’s “Mr Electric Blue,” from his just-released album American Heart. The spirited anthem is a tribute to the singer-songwriter’s father, who he admires by creating a hero-like persona of him. “He’s a man’s man/A good hard-working American/But he ain’t the guy/You’d wanna fight,” he sings. Check back often, as our editors update this playlist regularly—and if you hear something you like, add it to your library.

Prince Essentials - Prince Rogers Nelson wasted little time on his way to becoming a household name. Released on the Minneapolis native’s 20th birthday, his 1978 debut “Soft and Wet” already had several key pieces in place, including dreamily high singing, suggestive sexuality, and strutting synth-funk. “I Wanna Be Your Lover” topped the US R&B chart the following year, heralding Prince’s self-titled second album as an entirely self-performed and self-produced breakthrough. But as delightfully sticky as singles like “Uptown” and “Controversy” were, it wasn’t until 1982’s 1999 that he showed his true crossover potential with the title track and “Little Red Corvette.” Even that didn’t properly portend Purple Rain, the soundtrack to a film Prince starred in. Yielding the emotive title ballad as well as the No. 1 pop hits “When Doves Cry” and “Let’s Go Crazy,” the masterpiece is included on Apple Music’s 100 Best Albums list.

Maintaining a prolific pace of recording and releasing from his Paisley Park compound, he broadened popular concepts of race, romance, genre, and gender in the decades that followed, thanks to hits like “Kiss” (1986), “U Got the Look” (1987), “Cream” (1991), and “The Most Beautiful Girl in the World” (1994). One of the world’s greatest singers, guitarists, songwriters, and dancers all rolled into one unique dynamo, Prince mixed sexual ecstasy with spiritual transcendence right up until his death in 2016. He also lent his genius out to others along the way, providing hits for Sinéad O’Connor (“Nothing Compares 2 U”), The Bangles (“Manic Monday”), and Cyndi Lauper (“When You Were Mine”).
