Tay Keith: The Producers - Tay Keith is an expert at creating walls of sound that are both ominous and energising, taking the heavy drum-and-bass template of trap music and adding novel elements to it. On Drake’s “Nonstop”, Keith’s beat is sparse and peppered with a smattering of hi-hats. He lets playful keys dance up and down the spine of Travis Scott’s “SICKO MODE”, and his production on Lil Baby & Gunna’s “Never Recover” is equal parts joyful and ferocious.

Mike WiLL Made-It: The Producers - After rising through the ranks of a competitive Atlanta hip-hop scene, Mike Will turned his detailed, frequency-filtering style to the harrowing "Bandz a Make Her Dance" with Juicy J. Brooding, atmospheric production for pop stars like Rihanna and Miley Cyrus followed, yet he steps just as easily into lighter fare, ranging from Rae Sremmurd's whimsical "No Type" to Ciara's sensual "Body Party".

Nineteen85: The Producers - As the secret weapon of Drake's production team, Nineteen85 is the rising star of the OVO Sound collective. Layered with late-night rhythms and luscious keyboards, his music has set up Drake for some of his most seductive moments. But don't call this Toronto native soft—beneath the sensuality, his beats boast a dark streak.

Murda Beatz: The Producers - The Ontario-born Shane Lee Lindstrom emerged as one of hip-hop’s most in-demand beatmakers in the late 2010s, lending his tropical-trap touch to A-list MCs like Travis Scott, Nicki Minaj, and Migos. But his crowning achievement of the era was his production for frequent client Drake on the 2018 chart-topping smash “Nice for What,” where a chiseling drum-machine beat is buffed by a dreamy Lauryn Hill sample.

Hit-Boy: The Producers - Producer and rapper Chauncey Hollis, Jr. justifies his ambitious stage name by delivering hits that teamed up some of the biggest stars in popular music, from JAY Z and Kanye West to Lil Wayne and Eminem. And it's Hit-Boy's ornate, gorgeously textured tracks that keep his A-list clientele coming back, with drums that thump and scrape and synths that explode into glittering fireworks.

Mustard: The Producers - As the crown prince of ratchet music, DJ Mustard's formula is hooked around spiking deceptively simple synth melodies with vicious 808 kicks. Having paid dues on the underground L.A. scene, the producer broke through thanks to club-centric collaborations with the vocalists YG, Tyga and 2 Chainz. Now his ever-present opening tagline—“Mustard on the beat”—has become a worldwide nightlife refrain.
