If there's one word to describe this Marseille-born hip-hop star—real name Julien Marie—it would be "prolific". Not content with releasing his debut album in 2014, Jul dropped two more albums in the same year and has shown no signs of slowing down. His music flexes between rap, dancehall, Afrobeats and contemporary R&B with sugar-coated pop bling. Accentuated by his frequent use of Auto-Tune, his vocals are often caught between rapping and singing—rhythmical and melodic in just the right doses—and have helped Jul firmly establish himself within the French hip-hop scene.
