How to Backup Your Playlists

We introduced file export a long time ago when we released the first version of our music transfer app, back then known as STAMP. Down the road, we dropped the file export option. However, a lot of you asked to bring it back, so here it is - migrating to CSV is once again possible with the FreeYourMusic app!

Back up your playlists

The file export option allows you to easily backup your entire music collection. Thanks to it, you won’t ever have to worry about losing your music library. Save a copy of your playlists by exporting the song information to a CSV file:

How do I export playlists to Excel CSV? ⁠

Here are the steps you need to take to export your playlists and convert them with the FreeYourMusic app:

  • Download the app for your device (iOS, Android, Windows or MacOS)
  • Open the app and head to the transfer tab
  • Select the source platform (Spotify, Apple Music, etc.)
  • Select File Backup as destination
  • Select playlists for export
  • Confirm your action and wait for the application to finish exporting!

How do I import playlists from Excel CSV?

The import process is pretty straightforward: select the File Backup as source and then choose the destination service.
