In February 2024, the company reported 10.5 million paid subscribers and 14 million active users, since Deezer still has a free tier in many countries.

Over 30% of its user base is in France, with the rest spread around the world and Brazil in second place. That base looks small next to Spotify's 615 million active users. Still, Deezer reports a 91% customer satisfaction rate.

Why do users love Deezer?

It's worth looking at why people choose a smaller streaming service. We went to the Deezer subreddit to ask which features users enjoy and why. A few of the answers pointed to tools that rarely get top billing, like Flow and SongCatcher.

S-chlock, a member of the Deezer subreddit, said their favorite thing is being able to upload their own MP3s. That lets them play rarities that aren't on any streaming service. Motley-connection agreed. Websitey said the ability to shuffle the whole library is their top feature, and other users agreed.

After checking whether it was available elsewhere, people in the TIDAL forum noted that this feature was missing there. The more you know.
