A millennial girl group comprising young females from diverse backgrounds and styles, Fifth Harmony are a totem of modern American womanhood. The reality TV grads first staked their claim as independent breadwinners with the 2014 bleacher-stomper “BO$$.” Supported by rapper Kid Ink and a saucy sax lick, 5H asserted that same control in the club with the hip-pop hit “Worth It.” They continue to show sassy determination: Innuendo in the tropical pop tune “Work from Home” reminds boo (played by Ty Dolla $ign) that he's got an off-the-clock job to do—and it isn't the dishes.

Legend has it Simon Cowell only took 10 minutes to decide to bring then-teenaged contestants Harry Styles, Niall Horan, Zayn Malik, Louis Tomlinson, and Liam Payne together to form a boy band on The X Factor UK in July 2010.
