A songwriter committed to getting fists pumping, AWOLNATION mastermind Aaron Bruno never found a peak so steep he couldn't find a way to scale it. The multi-instrumentalist spent the ‘10s crossbreeding disparate elements to create the perfect lighter-waving anthem, combining the operatic scope of arena kings such as Journey and Def Leppard with the sweeping melodies and pound-you-into-submission beats of EDM, as seen on signature song “Run”. And while AWOLNATION excels at songs meant to rally crowds, he can also bring it down a notch, softening “Handyman” with folky, fingerpicked melodies that serve as balm before he brings the boom back.
