Spotify Premium Individual is $12.99/month in the US as of 2026, but very few people need to pay full price. Here are the legitimate ways to bring that down.
New subscribers can usually start with a free trial (often one to three months) before any charge. If you've never had Premium, that's your cheapest first step. It auto-renews at the regular price, so set a reminder to decide before it converts.
If you're enrolled at an eligible school, the Student plan is half the price of Individual and currently bundles Hulu (with ads). It's the single biggest discount available, and you re-verify your status each year.
The Family plan is $21.99/month for up to six accounts at the same address. Fill the slots and the per-person cost drops to roughly $3.67/month, far below Individual. Duo ($18.99 for two) is the middle option for couples.
All Premium tiers now include lossless audio at no extra cost, so the cheaper plans don't cut audio quality. The savings come from sharing or student status, not a worse product.
