How it works
Remove duplicates, step by step
Open FreeYourMusic and connect your music service
Use your music service's own sign-in. Your password stays with your music service.
Pick the playlist
Your playlists show with their song counts. Open the one you want to change.
Open Tools › Remove duplicates
See the playlist before and after. Nothing changes yet.
Apply
FreeYourMusic writes the change to your music service. Nothing changes before you apply.
Your liked songs move free between the services that support it.
Premium adds every playlist tool, auto-sync once a day, and playlist, album and artist transfers.
Remove duplicates: questions
Does it remove the songs on your music service?
Yes. FreeYourMusic removes the extra copies from the playlist on your music service. One copy of each song stays.
Which copy stays?
You see every group of copies before you apply. The copy with the check stays, and you can pick another one to keep.
Are a live and a studio version duplicates?
Only if you want. Turn on “Treat versions as the same song” to count live, remaster and explicit versions as one song.
Is it free?
You can try the tool free and see the preview. Applying the change needs Premium. Your liked songs move free between the services that support it.
Can I undo it?
Yes, on the services that let apps add and remove songs. The change goes to the playlist's History, and Restore puts the playlist back as it was.
Does it work on playlists I follow?
No. Only the owner can change a playlist that you follow. You can merge it into a playlist of your own and use the tool there.
Where can I use it?
In your browser at freeyourmusic.com/app on any computer, on iPhone and iPad, and on Android.
