If you install FreeYourMusic on your Mac from Setapp, Premium comes with your Setapp membership. It is "Valid for the duration of your Setapp membership": you pay Setapp, not us.
What do I get with Setapp?
- Premium in the Setapp version of the Mac app, for as long as your membership runs.
- Full CLI access from that Mac, the same as other Premium plans. About the CLI.
- Updates through Setapp. The Setapp version has no built-in updater: Setapp installs new versions for you.
There are no purchases inside the Setapp version, because the membership already includes Premium.
How does FreeYourMusic know I am a member?
When the app starts, and again every 12 hours while it runs, it asks Setapp to confirm your membership and tells our server. Each confirmation keeps Premium on for the next few days. If Setapp says the membership has ended, Premium ends too.
Does Setapp Premium work on my phone?
No. Setapp Premium covers the Setapp version of the Mac app only. Setapp no longer offers FreeYourMusic for iPhone, and the mobile apps do not get Premium from a Setapp membership. To use Premium on your phone, buy it in the App Store or Google Play. Plans and prices.
How do I cancel?
You cancel your Setapp membership in your Setapp account. We cannot cancel or refund a Setapp membership, because Setapp takes the payment. When the membership ends, the app goes back to the free version, and your transferred music stays on your new service.
Premium is off, but my membership is active. What now?
Turn Setapp Premium back on
- Make sure you opened the Setapp version of FreeYourMusic, not a copy you downloaded from our website.
- Check that you are signed in to Setapp and that your Mac is online.
- Quit FreeYourMusic and open it again, so it asks Setapp to confirm your membership.
- Still free? Write to support@freeyourmusic.com and tell us the email of your Setapp account.
Frequently asked questions
Can I enter a passcode in the Setapp version?
You do not need one. With an active Setapp membership, the app turns Premium on by itself.
How do I update the Setapp version?
Setapp updates it for you. The app has no update button of its own in the Setapp version.
I left Setapp. Can I keep Premium?
Buy a Premium plan on our website or in the regular desktop app. Plans and prices.
