If FreeYourMusic picked the wrong song or the wrong version, you can fix it with Rematch. Tap the song in the transfer, search the new service, and choose the right one. Rematch is free on every plan.
How do I rematch a song?
Fix a wrong match with Rematch
- Open the transfer in FreeYourMusic.
- Find the song. The "Low Confidence Match" and "Missing" filters help you find songs worth checking.
- Tap the song. The app opens "Looking for a better match on" the service you moved to, with a list of results.
- If the right song is not in the list, type in the "Search on" field, for example the song title and artist.
- Select the right result and tap "Use this match".
The song shows "Rematching" while FreeYourMusic updates the destination, then "Rematched". A song you picked yourself always shows 100% confidence.
What if nothing fits?
Choose "Nothing fits this song, skip it" at the end of the results and tap "SKIP". For an album, the option is "Nothing fits this album, skip it". The item then shows "Cannot match" and FreeYourMusic stops looking for it.
What does Rematch change in my playlist?
- FreeYourMusic adds the song you picked to the destination playlist and removes the old match, so you do not end up with both.
- Some services do not let apps remove songs from a playlist. Then the old match stays and shows "Cannot delete". Remove it by hand in that service.
- Your choice is kept. If you later use "Force recreate transfer", your rematched songs stay the way you picked them.
- Nothing changes in the service you moved from.
What cannot be rematched?
- Artists. "Artists cannot be re-matched. You follow an artist, so there is no song to correct."
- Albums on some services. If the destination cannot search for albums, the app says "Albums cannot be searched on" that service, and the album match cannot be changed.
- A cancelled transfer. Its matches cannot be changed any more.
Messages you may see

Frequently asked questions
Is Rematch a Premium feature?
No. Rematch is free on every plan.
Will auto-sync undo my rematch?
No. FreeYourMusic remembers the song you picked and keeps it on later syncs.
Can I rematch many songs at once?
No. Rematch works one song at a time, because you choose the right result for each one.
The right song is not on the new service at all. What can I do?
Skip it with "Nothing fits this song, skip it". You can export all songs that did not transfer to an Excel file with "Export missing songs".
