Open a transfer and every song shows a status next to it. The status tells you whether the song arrived on the new service, and if not, why. Most need no action at all.
Song statuses
| Status | What it means | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| Matching | FreeYourMusic is searching the new service for this song. | Nothing. Wait a moment. |
| Matched | A match was found and the song is about to be added. | Nothing. |
| Added (shown as Matched with "N% confidence") | The song is on the new service. The percentage is the match score. | Nothing, unless the score is low and the song looks wrong. Then use Rematch. |
| Not matched | No good enough match was found on the new service. | Try Rematch with your own search, or export the missing songs. |
| Adding failed | A match was found, but the new service refused or failed to add it. | Use "Retry transfer failed tracks" in the transfer options. |
| Moving failed | The song was added, but it could not be moved to its place in the playlist order. | Nothing. The song is in the playlist, only its position may differ from the source. |
| Duplicated | The same song is already in the destination playlist, for example because your source playlist holds it twice, so it was not added a second time. | Nothing. |
| Skipped | FreeYourMusic did not add this song on purpose, for example because the album it belongs to is moved as a whole. | Usually nothing. |
| Rematching | You picked a new match and FreeYourMusic is putting it in place. | Nothing. Wait a moment. |
| Rematched | You picked this match yourself with Rematch. | Nothing. |
| Cannot match | You chose "Nothing fits this song, skip it", so FreeYourMusic stopped looking. | Nothing. Rematch it again if you change your mind. |
| Manually added | Somebody added this song to the destination playlist by hand. FreeYourMusic keeps it. | Nothing. |
| Deleted at source | The song was removed from the source playlist after it was transferred. | Nothing. With auto-sync, it is removed from the destination too. |
| Deleted | The song was removed from the source, and FreeYourMusic removed it from the destination as well. | Nothing. |
| Delete failed | FreeYourMusic tried to remove the song from the destination, but it is still there. | Nothing. It tries again on the next sync. |
| Cannot delete | The music service does not let apps remove this song, so it stays in the destination playlist. | Remove it by hand in that service if you want it gone. |
| Deleted at target | Somebody removed the song from the destination playlist. FreeYourMusic will not add it back. | Nothing, if you removed it on purpose. |

Messages at the top of a transfer
Sometimes the whole transfer needs your attention. A box at the top of the transfer then says what is wrong. The most common ones:
| Message | What it means and what to do |
|---|---|
| "Log in to ..." | Your sign-in to that music service expired. Tap the box and sign in again. The transfer continues afterwards. |
| "Do something in ... first" | The music service needs something from you before the transfer can go on. The box explains what. Do it in that service, then come back. |
| "The account this transfer used is gone" | The account is no longer connected. The transfer is kept as history. Connect the account again to run it. |
| "The playlist created at ... is no longer there" | The playlist FreeYourMusic made on the new service was deleted. Tap the box to see how to fix it. |
| "The source playlist at ... is no longer there" or "... is empty" | The playlist you transferred from was deleted or emptied. There is nothing left to sync. |
| "... does not support removing tracks automatically" | Songs you remove from the source must be removed by hand at the destination. |
| "There was a problem while processing this transfer" | Something went wrong. Try again later, and contact support if it stays. |
For transfers that stay stuck, see transfer stuck, failed or needs attention.
Frequently asked questions
What does "Deleted at target" mean?
The song was removed from the destination playlist after FreeYourMusic added it, usually by you or by the music service. FreeYourMusic respects that and does not add it back.
What does "Duplicated" mean?
The same song was already in the destination playlist, for example because your source playlist holds it twice, so FreeYourMusic did not add a second copy.
How do I fix "Adding failed"?
Open the transfer options and choose "Retry transfer failed tracks". Most of these are temporary errors at the music service.
What is the difference between "Not matched" and "Cannot match"?
"Not matched" means FreeYourMusic found nothing good enough. "Cannot match" means you looked at the results yourself and chose to skip the song.
