"Deleted at target" means the song was added to the destination playlist, but it is not there any more. Somebody removed it on the destination, or the destination service no longer shows it. Sync does not add it back on its own.
Why does sync not add the song back?
FreeYourMusic treats a removal on the destination as your choice. If you delete a song from the new playlist on purpose, you do not want the next sync to put it back. So the song stays "Deleted at target" and sync leaves it alone.
If the song shows up in the destination playlist again later, the app sees it and marks it as added again.
Amazon Music
On Amazon Music you can see "Deleted at target" for songs that nobody removed. When another app reads a playlist, Amazon Music leaves out the songs that are unavailable, but it still counts them. FreeYourMusic cannot see those songs, so it marks them "Deleted at target".
What you can do
Add removed songs back
- Open the transfer in FreeYourMusic.
- Open the options menu of the transfer.
- Choose "Force recreate transfer" and confirm. The app writes every song of the transfer to the destination again from scratch. The playlist itself stays the same: its link, ID and name do not change.
- Some services do not let other apps remove songs. On those, a force recreate adds the songs again and you have to remove the old copies yourself. The app tells you before you confirm.
- Your rematched songs stay as you set them.
- On Amazon Music, songs that Amazon hides stay hidden after a recreate, so they can show "Deleted at target" again.
"Retry transfer failed tracks" is a different option. It retries songs that failed to add or were not matched. It does not touch songs that show "Deleted at target".
Frequently asked questions
Did FreeYourMusic delete my songs?
No. FreeYourMusic does not remove songs it added when they are still in your source playlist. "Deleted at target" means the song is gone from the destination playlist, or the destination service no longer shows it to the app.
Why do my Amazon Music songs show "Deleted at target"?
Amazon Music hides unavailable songs from other apps but still counts them in the playlist. FreeYourMusic cannot see them, so it marks them "Deleted at target". Check the playlist in the Amazon Music app.
How do I get the songs back?
Open the transfer, open its options menu and choose "Force recreate transfer". This writes every song to the destination again.
