"Reset & clear app data" removes everything FreeYourMusic saved on this device and signs you out. "Clear cache" only frees space. Neither one touches the music on your music services.
Which one do I need?
| Option | What it removes | What stays |
|---|---|---|
| Clear cache | Saved pictures, such as cover art. The app downloads them again when needed. | Everything else: your transfers, accounts and Premium. |
| Reset & clear app data | All local data on this device, including the transfer history saved here and your sign-ins. You are signed out. | Your FreeYourMusic account, and the music on your music services. |
| Delete account | All your data, from the app and from our servers. | The music on your music services. |

Reset and clear app data
Reset FreeYourMusic on this device
- Open the Profile tab.
- In the "App" section, tap "Reset & clear app data".
- Read the "Are you sure?" message and tap "CLEAR APP STATE".
- The app starts fresh, as if you had just installed it.
- Unlock Premium again with your passcode or with "Restore purchase", and connect your music accounts again.
If the app crashes, the error screen also offers "Still broken? Reset local data". It does the same: "All the local data will be cleared, but your data from music services will NOT be deleted."
What about reinstalling?
Treat a reinstall like a reset. Uninstalling can delete the transfer history saved on the device, and you may need to unlock Premium and connect your music accounts again.
Get Premium back
- Tap "I already have an account" and enter your passcode. Lost it? See your passcode.
- Bought in the App Store or Google Play? Tap "Restore purchase" with the same Apple Account or Google account.
Frequently asked questions
Will a reset delete my playlists?
No. A reset only clears the app on this device. Your playlists, liked songs and albums on your music services stay where they are.
I reinstalled the app and my transfers are gone. Can I get them back?
The transfer list that was saved on the device cannot be brought back. The music you moved is still on your music service, so nothing you transferred is lost there.
Does a reset delete my FreeYourMusic account?
No. To delete your account and all your data, use "Delete account". See delete your account and data.
Does a reset cancel my subscription?
No. A reset does not change your subscription. Unlock Premium again with your passcode or "Restore purchase".
