Delete your FreeYourMusic account and data

On this page9 sections ▾

You can delete your FreeYourMusic account in the app at any time: open the Profile tab and tap "Delete account". All your data is deleted from the app and from our servers.

Before you delete

  • It cannot be undone. Your transfer history and your connected accounts are gone for good.
  • Your subscription keeps running until you cancel it where you bought it.
  • Your music stays on your music services. Playlists and songs FreeYourMusic added are not removed from them.
  • We can no longer find your purchase by email, because your email address is deleted too.

What is deleted?

All your data, from the app and from our servers:

  • Your personal data, such as your email address.
  • Your connected music accounts and their saved sign-ins.
  • Your library and your transfer history.
  • Your stats data and your public stats page, if you set one up.
  • Your notification tokens and any notifications waiting to be sent to you.
  • The local data of the app on the device you deleted from.

Do you use FreeYourMusic on more than one device?

Deleting removes the local data only on the device you deleted from. Your other devices may still hold the app's local data. To clear it, open the Profile tab on that device and use "Reset & clear app data", or uninstall the app. See reset app data.

What about the music services?

As the app tells you: "Your data from music services will NOT be deleted." Your playlists, liked songs and accounts at each service stay as they are. To also remove FreeYourMusic from a service, open its connected-apps or privacy settings and remove FreeYourMusic there.

Cannot open the app?

Write to support@freeyourmusic.com and ask us to delete your account. Send it from the email address you used with FreeYourMusic, or include your passcode, so we can find your account.

Frequently asked questions

Does deleting my account cancel my subscription?

No. The app says it plainly: "Your subscriptions will NOT be cancelled, you need to do that on your own." Cancel in the App Store, Google Play or the billing portal before you delete.

Will my playlists disappear from my music service?

No. Deleting your FreeYourMusic account does not touch your music services. Everything FreeYourMusic added stays there.

Can I get my account back after deleting it?

No. Deletion cannot be undone. You can install FreeYourMusic again and start as a new user.

Can I delete my account on the website?

Account deletion is in the app on every platform. If you cannot use the app, write to support@freeyourmusic.com.

I only want to clear this device. What should I do?

Use "Reset & clear app data" in the Profile tab instead. It removes the local data and signs you out, but keeps your account. See reset app data.
