Yes. For most music services you sign in on the service itself, so FreeYourMusic never sees your password. The app copies your music to the new service and leaves your old library as it is.
Who makes FreeYourMusic?
FreeYourMusic is made by Hernas OÜ, a company based in Tallinn, Estonia, in the European Union. The app has been around since 2015. Read more about us.
Do I give FreeYourMusic my password?
For most services, no. FreeYourMusic uses each service's official sign-in (OAuth) and its official API where one exists. The app opens the service's own sign-in page, you sign in there, and the service gives FreeYourMusic permission to read your library and add music to it.
A few services have no official sign-in for apps like ours. For those, you sign in on the service's own page inside the app, and the app keeps only the cookies the service sets, never your password. For Pandora, the app sends your username and password straight to Pandora and keeps only the sign-in token Pandora returns. How signing in works lists the services in each group.
Where is my sign-in kept?
FreeYourMusic keeps the sign-in so it can keep working with your account. Depending on the service, it is kept in the app on your device, on our servers, or both. When our servers save a sign-in, they save it encrypted with AES-256-GCM.
You can disconnect an account at any time, see connected accounts. When you delete your FreeYourMusic account, your saved sign-ins are deleted with it.
Can FreeYourMusic delete my music?
FreeYourMusic reads the service you are leaving and copies what you pick. It does not remove playlists, liked songs, albums or artists from that service.
Who handles my payment?
Premium is paid through the App Store, Google Play or, on the website and the desktop app, through our payment provider Stripe. They handle your card. FreeYourMusic gets a confirmation of the purchase, not your card details. See plans and pricing.
Does FreeYourMusic collect data about me?
We keep what the app needs to work, such as your purchase and your connected accounts. We use analytics and crash-reporting tools to improve the app. What data we store explains the details, and the privacy policy is the full legal text.

- To be thorough, also open the connected-apps or privacy settings of your music service and remove FreeYourMusic there.
