Supported music services and what each one can move

On this page6 sections ▾

FreeYourMusic works with 15 streaming services, plus Napster through the Napster converter and a file backup to Excel. What you can move depends on what each service lets apps read and write.

Which music services does FreeYourMusic support?

You can move music from and to Amazon Music, Apple Music, Audiomack, Audius, Boomplay, Deezer, JioSaavn, Pandora, Qobuz, SoundCloud, Spotify, Tidal, VK Music, YouTube and YouTube Music.

What can each service move?

Every service in the list can move playlists. Liked songs, albums and artists depend on the service. "Read" means FreeYourMusic can take them from the service; "write" means it can add them there.

A transfer needs both ends: the service you move from must be able to read an item and the service you move to must be able to write it. "Not confirmed" means we have not verified it yet, so do not count on it.

How many songs fit in one playlist?

Some services cap how many songs one playlist can hold. When a playlist is longer than the cap of the service you move to, FreeYourMusic splits it into more than one playlist there.

ServiceSongs per playlist
Spotify10,000
Pandora5,000
YouTube Music5,000
Amazon Music2,500
Deezer2,000
Qobuz1,000
SoundCloud500

Services that are not in this table have no cap that we know of. How playlist names and splitting work.

Which services are paused?

These services are paused and do not show in the app right now: Gaana, QQ音乐, Resso, Yandex Music and Zvuk. A service is paused when it changes or blocks the way apps connect to it. Paused services can come back when we can support them reliably again.

Looking for QQ Music (QQ 音乐)? It is paused, so you cannot connect a QQ Music account at the moment. The same goes for the other paused services above.

Can I ask for a new service?

Yes. Email support@freeyourmusic.com with the service you want and where you use it. We read every request, but we cannot promise a date.

Frequently asked questions

Does FreeYourMusic work with my music service?

It works with Amazon Music, Apple Music, Audiomack, Audius, Boomplay, Deezer, JioSaavn, Pandora, Qobuz, SoundCloud, Spotify, Tidal, VK Music, YouTube and YouTube Music. Napster works through the Napster converter, and you can also back up to an Excel file.

Why can I not find a service in the app?

It is probably paused. The paused services are Gaana, QQ音乐, Resso, Yandex Music and Zvuk.

Can I add songs to my liked songs on the new service?

Yes, where the table shows "Yes" under "Liked songs (write)". FreeYourMusic only adds new songs to your liked songs. It does not reorder or remove the songs that are already there.

Does FreeYourMusic move podcasts?

No. FreeYourMusic moves playlists, liked songs, albums and artists. No music service lets apps move podcasts yet. FreeYourMusic moves the information about your music, not audio files.
