You connect a music service the first time you pick it for a transfer, or beforehand in the Profile tab under "Connected accounts". You sign in to the service, and from then on the account is ready as the source or the destination of a transfer.
How do I connect an account?
Connect a music service account
- Open the Profile tab.
- Under "Connected accounts", tap "New connection".
- Pick the music service.
- Sign in on the page that opens and approve the access the service asks for. You are back in the app with the account connected.
You can also connect a service while you set up a transfer. Pick the service, and if it already has an account, tap "...or connect to new account" to add another one.
Most services open their own sign-in page. A few work differently, and how signing in works explains each way and what the app keeps.
What do some services need first?
- Apple Music needs an active Apple Music subscription. See Apple Music.
- YouTube Music needs a YouTube channel and one playlist you made on music.youtube.com. See YouTube Music.
- Pandora shows playlists only to Pandora Premium members. See Pandora.
- Napster is no longer available for direct connection. Use the Napster converter instead. See Napster.
Frequently asked questions
Does FreeYourMusic store my music service password?
No. For most services you sign in on the service’s own page, so FreeYourMusic never sees the password. Where the app asks for your sign-in details itself, it sends them to the service and keeps only the sign-in key the service sends back.
The sign-in does not work. What can I do?
Read I cannot sign in to a music service for the common fixes.
How do I remove a connected account?
Open the Profile tab, tap the service under "Connected accounts" and unlink the account. See connected accounts.
